Beauty Must haves for the beach!

beauty collage

We are beach bound! Hallelujah!  We don’t get to travel much due to my husband’s work schedule, but our annual beach trip has become our holy grail!  Sun, beach, and waves are super fun, but can be hard on your hair and skin.  I thought I would share the products that are going in my beauty bag (in addition to the standards)

My number one beauty rule is :KEEP YOUR FACE OUT OF THE SUN!!! There is never any reason to tan your face with all of the bronzer and self tanner options.  Skip the sun spots and wrinkles and go the fake tan route.  To shield my face from the sun I wear huge hats and sunglasses. The bigger the better.  Versona has lot’s of great options that are inexpensive and on trend.

My favorite sunscreen right now is the Rodan and Fields sunscreen. It smells so good and isn’t greasy at all.  My face is very sensitive so I have to use a sunscreen specifically for the face.  I use Cetaphil daily moisturizing sunscreen. It is ultra gentle and fragrance free.  The skin around my eye area seems to dry out easily especially when I’m travelling, so I use Rodan and Fields Multifunction eye cream to keep this delicate area hydrated.  And it never fails, my face always breaks out at the beach.  I guess it’s all the humidity and sweat-gross!  In the evening I like to use a mask to unclog my pores and make my face feel clean and fresh.  I use the Mask of Zen and it makes my face so clean and refreshed!

Don’t forget to protect your lips too! Sun Bum keeps my lips hydrated and protects them with an spf 30.  I also wear this under my lipstick if I want protection and color.  After being in the sun all day, it’s important to moisturize your whole body especially if you get burned.  The Rodan and Fields Body Moisturizer is my current pick.  And no, I don’t sell R and F, I just really like some of their products!

I am VERY fair skinned! And let’s face it, pasty legs just aren’t pretty.  I get a spray tan before I leave, but after 5 days it usually starts to fade and get a little spotty.  And we are there for 7 days.   I use Sally Hansen Airbrush legs to even things out and make the color last the duration of the trip.

Now on to the hair.  The sun, chlorine, and salt water can really dry it out.  Hats not only protect your skin, but your hair as well!  In addition to shampoo and conditioner, I am taking the Carol’s Daughter Monoi hair mask to keep my hair hydrated and to help with detangling.  This product is amazing!  My hair is so much stronger when I use this regularly.  With all the heat and humidity my hair gets flat and oily around the temple area.  Clean Freak dry shampoo gives my hair volume and absorbs the oil in between washes.

Oh and this adorable little cosmetic bag with pom poms is from Target!  Go and get your self one 🙂

I hope you will give some of these products a try on your next beach trip!  What are your go to products for the beach?

Thanks for reading and I’m off to finish packing because I’m a MAJOR overpacker!!

XOXO

Emily
